Legal Administration Assistant

Job Purpose

To work within the Defence Team, providing administrative support to fee earners who deal with all aspects of litigated and non-litigated personal injury claims.

Key Responsibilities

  • Composing letters to clients/customers
  • Maintain pro-active communication with clients and external agencies relating to claims
  • Observing and maintaining firm confidentiality in relation to all correspondence and communications
  • Effective prioritisation of tasks whilst managing a full workload
  • Answer and make telephone calls
  • Handle confidential information in line with the firm’s data security protocols
  • Proactively manage diaries and diarise actions
  • Generating standard system driven letters
  • To provide general help and assistance with all aspects of litigated and non – litigated personal injury claims and/or technical nature
  • To assist with matters such as (but not exclusively), preparing Trial bundles, preparing witness statements, obtaining and reviewing evidence (medical or otherwise) obtaining and collating medical records, instructing Counsel, preparing court proceedings

Experience and Knowledge

  • Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel 
  • Strong organisational, administrative and time management skills 
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written 
  • Customer focussed 
  • Ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment 
  • Good attention to detail
  • An ability to work using own initiative within boundaries, as well as in a team, to achieve maximum results
